It is with great pleasure and excitement to announce that the On Location: Memphis International Film Festival to feature the Cove’s animated music video, "Wish I Was Dead", to be screened at this year’s film festival, which will be held from April 23rd through April 26th in Memphis, Tennessee. This is our 6th nomination for the video thus far in 2009, so this is exciting news for everyone here at the Cove’s production company, Back River Endeavor, as well as for our partner and Cove friend, Ondrej Rudavsky, who directed and animated the video!

The Cove’s screening time has been set for Saturday night at 10 PM, as part of a music video feature called On Location: MTV.

About the On Location: Memphis: “(Memphis, TN – April 6, 2009) Celebrating its 10th year as a powerhouse organization devoted to promoting creative arts through film, On Location: MEMPHIS (OL:M) has planned a 2009 festival showcasing 100 film screenings in four days! The 2009 On Location: MEMPHIS international film fest has an exciting lineup this year, presenting a spectacular array of feature films, documentaries, short films, animation, and music videos from Memphis and around the world as well as timely and informative panels and workshops, even a vendor area. Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with filmmakers, producers, directors, actors, and musicians from all over the world. Filmmakers from Berlin, London and Nigeria are all confirmed to attend this year fest. This year’s festival is scheduled for April 23rd -26th at a new location for the festival– Malco’s Ridgeway Four, 5853 Ridgeway Parkway, Memphis, Tennessee.

Opening night, On Location: MEMPHIS will be screening the inspiring and compelling documentary, “Prom Night In Mississippi,” in partnership with Facing History and Ourselves. The film, nominated for Best World Documentary at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, is directed by Paul Saltzman, who will attend the festival and conduct a Q and A along with students from the film. The film exposes the racial divide that lives on in our society today and examines what happened when Freeman funded the first integrated prom in Charleston. The prom was the creative idea of acclaimed actor and Charleston native, Morgan Freeman. The screening is sponsored by Madidi a unique dining experience located in Clarksdale, Mississippi and owned by local attorney and businessman Bill Luckett and actor Morgan Freeman.

About the Cove: The Cove’s music video was re-released in late 2008 and has been featured in the Festivus Festival in the Rockies in Jan.’09; named an Official Finalist at the Canada International Film Festival in Vancouver in Feb.’09. In addition to the BIFF the Cove will see their video feature April 25 and 26, 2009 at the Memphis: On Location Film Festival, followed by two screenings at the Cape Fear Film and Music Festival in May 2009.
